Law enforcement officials confirmed to TMZ this weekend that the 30-year-old rapper, Lil Marlo, was shot and killed in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend.
Page Six confirmed that the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office had in their possession the body of Rudolph Johnson who went by the stage name, Lil Marlo.
This Saturday evening, the police went to the scene of what was initially reported as an accident, however, upon their arrival, authorities discovered the dead body of the rapper. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An official who spoke with TMZ claimed investigators believe Lil Marlo was the specific target of the shooting. They are currently in the middle of determining the circumstances that led to his death. The police say it looks like he was shot to death while driving.
This Sunday, Lil Yachty, his fellow rapper, took to his IG to say that he and Lil Marlo had just got finished working on a song around 4:00 am. According to Page Six, Johnson has been working with the record label, Quality Control, since 2017.
This wouldn’t be the first time the hip-hop community lost one of its rising stars to a shooting. Near the start of the year, it was reported and confirmed by Toronto police that Houdini, 21, was shot and killed in the entertainment district in the middle of the day.
Police officials said in a press conference that the incident was completely “unacceptable” due to it taking place in the middle of the day.
Another rapper involved in a shooting is Hurricane Chris, who was charged with second-degree murder earlier this year. While Chris, himself, was not shot, the rapper is reported to have been involved in the shooting death of a man at a gas station.

He later came out to say that he was acting in self-defense, however, authorities state they have evidence this wasn’t the case. He later released a statement on his social media in which he proclaimed his innocence and declared his intention to clear his name and reputation.
