After 21 years, Jawbreaker will finally reunite this year to headline Riot Fest 2017. The renowned festival takes place from September 15-17 in Chicago’s Douglas Park. The influential punk band broke up in the late nineties following a fistfight between two of its members, and haven’t been heard from since. However that is all set to change later on this year.

Fans of the band shouldn’t be quick to get too excited though as a representative has confirmed that the reunion is a one off – at the moment there are no plans to release an album or begin a tour. Some have been calling for the band to reunite for years, however, calls have often been shut down by the members. Although, it was revealed last year by former drummer Adam Pfahler that they had gotten together to play some songs.

“We weren’t sure if we could still do it,” he said. We could still do it.”

Jawbreaker, which includes guitarist and singer Blake Schwarzenbach, bassist Chris Bauermeister, and Pfahler, formed in 1986. After a series of increasingly successful albums, Jawbreaker signed to  label DGC and released Dear You.
