23 year old Dani Farley from Portsmouth was part of the 2014 X Factor, she auditioned with the fun all girl pop group ‘The Pow Pow Girls’.
Sadly the girls didn’t make it to the live shows, and are now going solo.
Here I chat to former member Dani Farley, who is currently signed to YSBG Records, about her solo career, life after X Factor and what the future holds for her career.
When did you first start singing?
I had my first singing lesson at the age of 7 and haven’t stopped singing since
You auditioned for X Factor 2014 with The Pow Pow girls, how would you describe the experience?
It was an amazing Experience and one I will never forget! Getting to perform on Wembley Stage has always been a dream of mine so I was so lucky to have that opportunity
You were in Louis Walsh’s category, were you happy with him or would you have preferred a different judge?
I was quite happy about having Louis, but I absolutely love Cheryl Fernandez-Versini so I would have loved to have had her as our mentor
Would you consider auditioning for the show again?
Defiantly 100% I think the show gives artists an amazing platform
Do you like the new X Factor judging line up?
Yes I do. I think it’s great they have mixed it up a bit. Rita Ora is an amazing artist and I love Nick Grimshaw!
How would you describe your sound in three words?
Unique, current and easy listening
Growing up who were your musical influences?
Christina Aguilera, was always my inspiration! I used to listen to her CD’s on repeat in the car, her voice is flawless
Who is your favourite singer at the moment?
It has got to be Sam Smith. I could listen to him sing all day everyday, his voice is stunning
If you could collaborate with anyone who would you choose?
I have always wanted to feature on one of Tinie Tempah’s tracks. I love his vibe. And I would love to do a duet with Nathan Sykes, his voice is incredible
What is your favourite song?
My Favourite song of all time is ‘Wonderful Tonight’ by Eric Clapton
What would be your dream venue to perform at?
Madison Square Garden is an absolute dream venue
What would you like to achieve in the next ten years?
I would love to achieve a top 10 song in the charts and to have my own tour would be amazing. I am also very into fashion so to have my own clothing line up and running would also be incredible
